Againas forced labour

The EU is on its’ last lap to achieve political compromise and to recommend the Member States ratification of the new International Labour Organization (ILO) protocol. It was adopted by the 103rd session of the International Labour Conference in June 2014 and refers to forced labour.

The protocol provides that the ratifying countries will inter alia (i) prevent forced labour, in particular in the context of trafficking in human being, (ii) improve protection of the victims and (iii) provide them with access to compensation. The abovementioned is to be implemented by a national policy and a plan of action for the suppression of forced labour.

EU recommends to ratify the protocol by the end of 2016.
